Doug is an accomplished trial lawyer whose experience trying complex cases around the country for clients across several industries sets him apart. As national and regional trial counsel for commercial transportation, truck and bus manufacturing, and insurance clients, Doug has litigated cases in all fifty states. He has tried more than 125 cases in 19 states, winning defense verdicts in venues recognized as “Judicial Hellholes.” His practice has focused on defending commercial vehicle crashworthiness claims; other products liability litigation involving heavy trucks, school buses, and agricultural equipment; brain injury cases; and commercial transportation catastrophic losses. His vast trial experience has provided him with the opportunity to master the physics, engineering, and software applications of accident reconstruction.

The American College of Trial Lawyers inducted Doug as a Fellow in recognition of his trial experience, skills, and professional approach to his work.

Doug established and built the firm’s commercial transportation, products liability, brain injury, and aviation practices. He continues to represent clients in these areas, a number of whom have partnered with Doug for more than two decades. His extensive experience and skill set benefit not only his clients, but the next generation of practitioners Doug mentors.
