The MRJ Brain Injury Team has published an article in the June 2016 edition of For The Defense, a national magazine for attorneys published by the Defense Research Institute. The article is titled Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation: An Overview of Neuroimaging Techniques. It is a primer on neuroimaging technologies such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), positron emission tomography (PET), and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) which attorneys can expect to encounter in TBI litigation now and in the future. In it, we review how the various techniques work, what their scientific limitations are, and the various issues that can arise when neuroimaging techniques are used to support TBI diagnoses in litigation.
